Pallas's Cat (Otocolobus manul)  Ribilik local nameis found in eastern Ladakh between 3000-4800m. This  cat appears in a compact body structure, low limbs, short rounded & widely patted ear set low on the sides of the broad head. The color of the body is silver grey. The fur on its under parts & tail is comparatively  longer than that on the rest of the body. Pallas's cat feed on the small mammals like pika and rodents. It also feed on birds sometime and the male is slightly heavier than female. The cat attains sexual maturity after a year. The weights between 3-4 Kg & Recorded longevity is up to 10-11 years

Itinerary

Day 01 :Delhi to Leh

Receive you at the Leh airport and transfer to accommodation and rest/ Free day.

Day  02 : Lower Indus tours (Confluence-Likir Monastery-Alchi Temple-Lamayuru-Leh) 130Kms drive/4Hrs

After breakfast drive to one of the most beautiful sights along the Indus river. You will be following the river Indus and come to see the confluence of Indus & Zanskar rivers at Nimoo village. You will stop for pictures and stretching legs and then drive further to visit to Likir monastery, landscape and huge image of Future Buddha “Maitreya” can be seen outside, apart from a nice monastic school for novices and then visit to different shrines. Enjoy a cup of black tea with this little novices and see their activities at this school. Later on visit to Alchi, the most ancient site, more than 1000years old fresco painting, huge images with fresco on it, Alchi is also referred as the “Ajanta of North India. You are driving on the National Highway one NH1 (Leh-Srinagar via Kargil Highway). Drive back to Leh in the late afternoon. Overnight at Gueshouse at choglamsar. Leh

Day 03 :  Leh to Hanle 4500m/14764 ft & 254 Kms/5 Hrs drive.

After breakfast drive to Hanele in Changthang region of ladakh is one of the most beautiful enchanting, calm place in Ladakh. Hanle has a ancient monastery with old Castle offering some great aerial views of the whole area, The views from the top of the monastery is breathtaking and Hanle village house an Indian Astronomical Observatory;  which is the world’s highest observatory in the world at a staggering height of 4500 Mtrs/14764 ft. The Hanle Observatory is operated by Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bengaluru and currently the second highest optical observatory in the world, with an installed telescope of about 2.01 meters (6.5 feet) diameter. Overnight stay at Homestays.

Day 07 : Day at Hanle/ Return back to Leh

Day 08: Fly back. End of the Pallas's Cat trip-Ladakh-Himalayas!
